Daniela Dutto

Daniela joins the clinic with over ten years experience as a physical therapist working in sports and orthopedic clinics. In the last five years, her training and experiences have led her into the specialty of treatment of chronic pain conditions. Through the use of thorough assessments, traditional acupuncture, trigger point acupuncture (IMS/dry-needling/Gokavi Transverse Technique), manual therapy, and/or exercise and education, Daniela's aim is to restore muskuloskeletal balance to the body in an attempt to resolve the causes of chronic pain and to provide long term relief.

Daniela is an avid rock climber and musician and has years of professional and personal experience with the treatment and prevention of repetitive strain and sports injuries. She has worked many years with acute and chronic whiplash disorders, in helping to restore muscle balance, strength and stability, and function to the body and the individual. In Penticton, Daniela worked closely with neurologists who referred patients with neurological symptoms (referred pain, numbness, and pins and needles, dizziness, headaches and migraines) for treatment with IMS therapy, neural mobilisation, and exercise. She has also had good results in the treatment of arthritic conditions with combinations of IMS, traditional acupuncture, and joint/muscle strength training. Although she has developped a specialty in chronic pain conditions, Daniela assesses and treats all injuries and likes to use a holistic approach to get individuals back to work and play quickly as well as to prevent reinjury or further injury. She previously competed in track and field and ultimate frisbee, and understands the need for quick return to activity, but also the importance of longevity in an athlete's/professional's career.

Daniela enjoys working closely with physicians and other health professionals to provide an optimal environment for the client's body to heal. She believes that with proper assessment and treatment, many chronic pain conditions can resolve and that communication with and referrals to others can be an integral part of recovery.
