Registered Massage TherapyMassage therapy rehabilitates tissues by increasing blood and lymph circulation, reducing muscle spasms, improving muscle flexibility and tone and improving range of motion. There are different massage therapy techniques depending on the type of condition being treated and hands-on treatment is just one part of a therapy session. How to Receive a Massage Communication: Feel free to ask questions and give feedback to your massage therapist at all times. This is important. For instance, you may need stronger or gentler work in specific areas. Everyone responds differently. Report any pain or discomfort. Or, if you sense what you need, please let us know. Massage is a great way to find out more about what is happening in your body and what muscles are tight and painful. Sometimes, pain felt in one area of the body is caused by problems in a different area of the body. You are welcome to ask about this and other concerns you may have about your health and body. Relaxation: Relaxation is an important part of any massage. Make sure that the position that you are in is comfortable. If you aren't, let your therapist know. We have bolster pillows if lying flat is difficult for you. Breathe as deeply and fully as you can (use your diaphragm!), allowing the body to become heavy and sink into the table. Some people find that they can release muscle tension by focusing or breathing into an area. Good Ideas: Set up your massage appointment so it is not right after a big meal. Go to the bathroom right before your massage to avoid any interruption. If you can, leave some time after your massage to relax. Making An Appointment: We accept appointments from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 8:00am to 2:00pm. Call 604.874.SEVA (7382) or Email: info@sevaphysio.com Treatments for ICBC/WCB must be approved by the case manager/adjuster, otherwise private fees apply. Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. We request that you be on time for your appointments. We try to keep as close to time as possible, knowing our patient's time is of considerable value. If even one person is late, it often throws our schedule far behind. |
